Redeeming your promotion code

Hey, everyone,
 
We've seen that a few people have had trouble trying to redeem the code that came in their copy of Lips: Number One Hits for a song pack of their choice. In response, we'll be working making the http://lips.xbox.com/plus5 site clearer and easier to understand over the next few weeks.
 
In the meantime, here's a basic overview of what you'll need to do to get your free song pack:
  1. Open your copy of Lips: Number One Hits to get the card with the coupon code.
  2. Visit http://lips.xbox.com/plus5
  3. Follow the instructions on the website. When prompted to enter your coupon code, enter the code on the back of the card (Tip: it's under the tear-away tab that says "Redemption Code")
  4. After selecting and confirming your song pack choice, you will receive a new 25-character code. Enter this new code at the Redeem Code blade on your Xbox or at the online Redeem Code page.
  5. Turn on your Xbox 360 and sign into the same Xbox LIVE account you redeemed the coupon on in order to finish your download.
We hope that helps clear up some of the confusion! For those of you who entered your coupon code at your Xbox and got the Lips Promotional Video, you can re-enter the coupon code at the website to choose your song pack and receive your song pack code.

    When I went to pick my song pack, I had picked the pack with "This is how we do it" and got a code. When I plugged that code on my xbox live it dled a different pack! Why is this thing so difficult?

    Hi guys, someone help me! Im having problems! I've entered my code but havent got a new 25-character code! what now??? I try and start from the begining but my orginal code isnt valid anymore (probably because its asuming that i've already got the songs but i havent! what can i do??? thanks

    Just a question here.... when I want to redeem the 2nd code in marketplace, I get a notification that something went wrong with the transaction and I need to try again later.... tried several times, but no luck so far. help? please?

    I have tried to go back to the site but it just says that i already redeemed it. Who can i email about this? Can anything be done. I paid for the game and now i can't get my free songs. Anyone have any other ideas?

    This post was helpful, thanks! I gotta give you guys some credit for giving people a choice of free DLC right off the bat. Also, the disc swapping could be smoother, but I think that's a slick compromise to use songs from the old game. I can only imagine what a licensing nightmare it would be to get both song and music video rights - Rock Band doesn't even let me swap discs to play the handful of songs that aren't imported, and it doesn't have music videos, you know? Anyway, keep up the good work! We got a few updates already within a week of release, so I know you guys ARE listening and we appreciate it!

    @Dekieon And you know, I really don't mean to pick a fight, so I'll leave this alone after this post, but it would probably help other users if you could explain to Karena what parts of the process you found hard to understand - and I mean language-wise, too. Like, "The part where the site you needed to enter the token at the Redeem Code site was confusing, because I thought it was referring to the code on my card". Then explain how it might be phrased in a way that you would have understood. It's probably a lot more constructive than yelling and expecting people to automatically understand how the experience can be improved, you know?
